AboutĀ me
Hello, I'm Dr. Stillwagon, a dedicated Radiation Oncologist with over 35 years of experience in the field.
My journey into medicine stemmed from my strong desire to directly impact patient outcomes and their families' lives. With a foundation as a PhD level Radiation Oncology Physicist from Georgia Tech, I realized that a more direct involvement was necessary for me to truly make a difference. This realization led me to medical school and subsequently to a residency program.
My passion for helping people and utilizing my knowledge to its fullest potential drove me towards becoming an MD. Upon completing my medical degree, I was privileged to be accepted into the esteemed radiation oncology program at John Hopkins Hospital, where I eventually served as the chief resident.
Following my residency and board certification, I joined the medical school faculty as an Assistant Professor of Oncology, Radiology, and Radiologic Sciences at John Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Here, I had the fulfilling opportunity to teach and train other residents in radiation oncology.
Throughout my career, I've actively contributed to the medical field with numerous publications in medical journals and book chapters. As a member of the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO), I've been honored with a Fellowship in the American College of Radiology, F.A.C.R.
After several rewarding years at Johns Hopkins, I returned to the South and have been in private practice for over 35 years. It was clear to me that prostate cancer, being the most common cancer in men beyond skin cancer, needed dedicated attention. My vast experience in treating this condition has allowed me to utilize my training as a radiation oncology physicist to its full potential.
Over the last 35 years, I've treated thousands of men with prostate cancer and worked closely with their families. My passion for spreading knowledge and helping more people led me to create a "The Essential Easy To Understand Guide To The Complex World Of Prostate Cancer" course that has been helping men who have prostate cancer around the world feel confident making the best treatment decisions.
